You’ve heard of National Drive Electric Week, that takes place every fall, but did you know that electric vehicle (EV) enthusiasts also celebrate Drive Electric Earth Day every April?

Drive Electric Earth Day is a national campaign to share information about electric vehicles throughout the month of April. This year, cities and community organizers are holding a combination of online and in-person events, often tied to larger Earth Day Celebrations.

We are always looking for reasons to share our love for EVs with anyone who will listen, so we wanted to highlight some Drive Electric Earth Day events for you to check out! Some of the events have already passed, but here are some of our favorites coming up:

EV Show, Tell, and Drive + Electric Home Tour

Date: Saturday, April 16

Time: Noon – 3 PM (PDT)

Location: The Pi House, 314 Stanford Ave, Palo Alto, CA 94306

From the organizers: Project Green Home’s curbside charger has officially given away 200,000 miles of free EV charging! To celebrate this milestone, we are hosting a party on April 16th, at Project Green Home, 314 Stanford Ave in Palo Alto, noon-3pm. The event is an opportunity to meet EV owners, kick the tires and potentially even test drive a mess of EVs!  You can also try cooking on an induction stove.  We will have chefs and supply food. Finally, come tour Project Green Home, an all electric, passive, low water use, net zero, LEED platinum home.

Bring your kids, they can jump on the trampoline, chase chickens or maybe even cook you something yummy on an induction stove!

EV and Ebike Show Novato

Date: Tuesday, April 19

Time: 4 PM – 6 PM (PDT)

Location: Novato Sports Basement Parking Lot, 100 Vintage Way, Novato, CA 94945
From the organizers: Join Ride and Drive Clean (rideandriveclean.org) to view EVs and Ebikes, meet owners, ask questions — live and in person! Check out exciting new models, get the scoop from EV drivers, and find the EV that’s right for you! See dozens of new electric vehicles, including Rivian, VW ID.4, Kia EV6, Teslas, Used EVs, and more! Find the EV or EBike that’s right for you. The event is FREE and open to the public and pre-registration is highly recommended.

Drive Electric Earth Day: Longmont Earth Day Celebration

Date: Saturday, April 23

Time: 12 PM – 2 PM (MDT)

Location: Longmont Museum, 400 Quail Rd, Longmont, CO 80501

From the organizers: Drive Electric Earth Day at the 8th Annual Longmont Earth Day Celebration will feature electric cars, electric commercial vehicles, and EV owners ready to give rides for river clean up participants (and non-participants as time permits) and share their ownership experience.

The Longmont Drive Electric Earth Day exhibit will be part of one big party that celebrates the Earth, inspires curiosity, and offers fun, interactive opportunities to learn how we can work against the global challenge of climate change on a local level. Programming includes a concert with Boulder County legends Jeff & Paige, inspiring live animal encounters with baby goats, eagles, owls, and hawks, collaborative art projects, and a river cleanup with Can’d Aid.

A small army of EV owners and their cars will be on site to shuttle river clean up participants between the Longmont Museum and the river clean up site near Harvest Junction.
